Liverpool Black Archive Hub

Liverpool Black Archive Hub (LBAH) is an online domain for signposting links, for films showing various aspects of Liverpool's Black Experience. It’s a webpage with links to categories and films. This is a pilot project, which is a stepping stone in creating an official Archive project.

The formation of a Liverpool Black Archive Hub is a starting point for creating a North West Black Archive centre (based in Liverpool).

Currently seeking partners and collaborators on the project, to develop the Liverpool Black Archive, and widen the North West Archive Hub!

Yore Lens on L8 (YLOL8)

https://yorelensonl8.co.uk

Yore Lens on L8’ is a video film screening project, sharing a series of short documentary films that celebrate decades of creativity in L8 – Arts, Community and History. Films include A Time for Healing, SLAF 1998 (South Liverpool Arts Festival), and Dr. Geri Augusto’s residency 2018 and TRACE – Travellers to the Pool 1999 and Maxine Brown 40 yrs of Dance.

The films are a retrospective reinterpretation of archive footage, reconnecting past and present, exploring Black Life in L8 through the film. They show the hub of grassroots creativity that exists in L8, bringing visibility and a voice to a marginalised community.

Also, featuring our very own Akomarts’s “Yore Lens on L8 (YLOL8),” which showcases clips from Liverpool 8 in the late 1990’s. YLOL8 exposes the need for a centralised online space, with links to a range of archive films, clips and photographs showing Black life. It’s self-empowering to create and present your own narratives.
